There is no easy way to lose weight, unfortunately. To make things worse, there is a lot of misinformation out there that leads people astray and make them fed up with their weight loss journey. There are countless lose weight now programs that are designed purely to milk people’s pocket dry. The theory behind losing weight is simple; burn more calories than you consume. That is straightforward but we have to consider that everyone has different schedules that require different levels of physical activity.

The theory behind losing weight is simple; burn more calories than you consume

It is common for people who are overweight to pay for expensive gym memberships and not actually go to the gym. There is usually a lot of excuses as to why they don’t go, but the reality is they are often discouraged from going to the gym. They turn up a few time, work as hard and they can and then stop going. Nothing is more demoralising than working hard in a session and then when you look in the mirror, you still look just as fat as you were before.

The truth is you burn calories doing any and everything. Even when you eat food, your body has to use calories to help you break it down. Your brain uses calories just to keep you functioning on a day to day basis. I say this to make it clear that you do not need to kill yourself on a treadmill on the fastest setting to lose weight. First, you need to make sure your diet is good as without that it’s a waste of time, to be honest.

Next, you need to just walk more. instead of driving everywhere, if the place is going is within half hour distance, just walk it. You don’t have to drive to the shops or take a taxi to the bus stop. Walking has a number of benefits:

1. Burns calories at a similar rate to jogging, assuming you are not walking at a snails place.

2. It is low impact, so your joints and muscles don’t take a battering like running. A lot of people start off running and they get injured and stop working out completely.

3. Releases endorphins in your brain that helps improve your mood and make you feel better.

4. It’s affordable. You don’t need an expensive gym membership, just your two legs and a comfortable pair of shoes.

**Just give it a month trial and see how it works out for you. Remember diet is important as well, do not pig out and then walk for 10 minutes and say walking is useless for weight loss.
