Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace today to help Real Madrid beat Eibar and get back to winning ways in La Liga.
The 5 times Ballon d’Or winner scored the opener in the 34th minute but Eibar soon equalised within 15 minutes. With 6 minutes remaining the man himself stepped up to score a close range header and give Real Madrid all 3 points and a much needed boost in La Liga.
They are now 12 points behind leaders Barcelone and its a safe bet that they will not be catching them this season for the title.
What this game highlight is just how much Real Madrid relies on Ronaldo. He is carrying this team at the moment, without him, they would really be in much deeper troubles. Zidane often rests Ronaldo for these games against lower ranking teams but Real Madrid are losing these type of games now. Last season the team could win without Ronaldo but not this year.
