Rolls Royce has finally launched their new SUV called the Cullinan and as expected, it is very expensive.
The base price for the Suv is US$325,000 and that is just the start. This is before you start adding on any of the many options you can choose for this vehicle.
Prices can rise as high as the owner’s wallet can reach. The Rolls Royce Phantom easily reaches $600,000 with just a few special options added.
The starting price is sure to make this a smashing hit for the rich and famous. The Cullinan’s starting price is lower than the Phantom and that is flying off the factory floor.
Who buys a vehicle so expensive?
There is a segment of the luxury market that doesn’t think BMW, Audi etc. is good enough. They want a vehicle that is super exclusive and available only to the truly wealthy.
That is the kind of person who buys this vehicle. They want supreme luxury and limited quantities.
BMWs sell by the millions, Rolls Royces sell by the thousands. That means when you own one, you are rarely going to see another one in the parking lot.
V12 engine makes it uber special
The Rolls Royce Cullinan will come with a 6.75L V12 engine. That alone will make this car stand out from all its competitors.
The Bentley Bentayga comes with a W12 but that does not have the history and smoothness of a V12.
Lamborghini launched their Urus with a V8 twin turbo engine, similar to that found in the Porsche Cayenne.
The Cullinan will come with 563 hp and 627 pound-feet (850 Newton-meters) of torque. They did not announce gas mileage or 0-60 times because they know their customers don’t care.
The Rolls Royce buyer is not looking for breakneck speeds. They want total and uncompromising luxury.
