The original Don Gorgon Ninja Man arrested again and has been placed in Police custody! For those who don’t know, this guy is a Dancehall Music legend. He was arrested and charged with the 2009 killing of Ricardo Johnson. He was also charged along with his son Janeil and Dennis Clayton. Now that is something you don’t see often, a father and son going on a shooting together. How does that work? Father calls son and says “hey son, wanna help me kill someone”? the son happily replies ” sure Dad”! In all seriousness, hopefully, Ninja Man is not guilty and comes back home to his family, friends and fans. If he is guilty and goes to prison, he will have his son to keep his company I guess.

Ninja Man is responsible for giving us some of the greatest moments in Dancehall Music History. His legendary ‘clashes’ with Supercat and Shabba Ranks are some of the highlights of a culture that has always been a source of escape for poor Jamaicans. Even if it was short term, music allows people to get a break from the stress of day to day life in Jamrock.
It is unlikely that anyone will celebrate the fact that Ninja Man has been arrested because he is such a pivotal part of the culture. If it was LA Lewis, then I am sure there might be a few vuvuzelas out on the streets of Kingston.
It is a shame that so many great Jamaican artistes get caught up in this trap and end up behind bars. Buju Banton, Vybz Kartel and now Ninja man arrested again. Let’s keep a close eye on this one, but until then enjoy a few clips of the legendary Ninja Man in action.
