Floyd “Money” Mayweather is at the centre of more drama. This morning his team was attacked and one of his bodyguards shot in Buckhead, Atlanta.
The incident occurred outside a luxury Intercontinental hotel on Monday morning.
It is alleged that Floyd Mayweather and his team had a dispute with a group of men while they were out clubbing. After they were leaving the club and returning back to their hotel, they were attacked and had several shots fired at the three vehicles the “Money Team” was travelling in.
The vehicles then tried to escape but were chased by the men initially before they eventually escaped.
When the dust settled, one of Floyd’s bodyguards was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to the hospital where he is being treated and is expected to make a full recovery.
Floyd was unharmed
Floyd managed to escape without any injuries but he is sure to be shaken up after going through such an ordeal. His security team is very large in terms of numbers and literal size. They are not bulletproof though and this will be a wake-up call for them.
Floyd has a history of running into problems when he is out of his hometown. His wealth and personality always get him in trouble with other people when he comes around. In the UK his tour bus was set on fire and completely destroyed.
Bad luck seems to come in twos for real as his arch nemesis Conor Mcgregor was also caught in his own drama last week. In that incident, he was the attacker however and is facing the risk of lawsuits or even jail time.
So far there has been no official statement from the “Money Team” about the shooting incident. This all seems to be quite hush considering the calibre of celebrity that this happened to.
